It normally takes a little chandelier incandescent bulb. My husband is going around changing out all our incandescents for florescents. Are there any safety issues? The bulbs he is using are 20 watts.
He put a florescent bulb in the chandelier with a dimmer switch. I took it out because it didn’t seem to work right.

I bought a set of 4 lamps from IKEA and went to set them up only to find out that they do not use regular light bulbs. On the back of the lamp it says to use “Type B” bulbs and on the website it says to use Chandelier bulb E12 Max 40W. What in the world are those light bulbs can I find them at a local store or do I have to drive back to IKEA and find them?

I have a beautiful chandelier in my entryway but it is 14 feet off the ground. The candle type lights are in a glass vase-like enclosure. With the holidays coming I would love to have it sparkling and the bulbs replaced but I am clueless as to how to do this myself. The problem is that the light bulbs are facing up so devises like light bulb changers with long poll will not work. Being on the on the second floor - it is closer to the chandelier but still out of reach.
