I want to replace a huge chandelier with a ceiling fan. I have a narrow beam that is holding up the chandelier, do I need a bigger support beam to hold the fan up? The fan weighs a couple more pounds than the chandelier. I have 116 year old plaster ceilings that i don’t want to damage, any suggestions?

If the US chandelier is wired with a plug, then it obviously won’t work in a UK outlet… But what if the chandelier is made to be hardwired to the ceiling? Then will the wiring install into a UK ceiling with no problem?

A chandelier that would fit on a 31.5 ft. (width) and a 35 ft. (length) stage with another chandelier of the same size. So basically, 2 French chandeliers from the 1930s that will fit on that size stage, with some room in between the chandeliers and some room between the side curtains on the stage.

Unfortunately, the chandelier install instruction has been dumped. The chandelier has two wires, neither of which are color coded (black/ white) and the ground copper wire. However the outlet contains four wires, black, white, red, and green. Should the red wire be attached to BLACK or white wire, since all should be “hot”? Also, when attaching to the fixture wiring since there is not color, is this just a hit or miss as to which goes to black or white? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
